Travelled the world to be with you!
Shortly before the age of two Ruth's parents immigrated to Canada from England where she was born. For many years Ruth travelled extensively and was fortunate enough to live in a few different countries including Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, England, Japan, and the USA. In 2016 she returned to England from Japan and she has settled in Amesbury, Wiltshire.
Ruth is not new to stamp collecting as she started her first stamp collection in Ottawa, Canada when she was a child. During her years abroad she received letters from friends and relatives living far away. During the lockdown of 2020 Ruth went through those correspondences and discovered a most diverse collection of stamps from around the world.
With so many beautiful stamps Ruth decided to repurpose those tiny works of art and create one-of-a-kind useful products to enhance any home. As each stamp has a unique history these objects become a conversation piece.
What country did the stamp come from? Where did it go, and how would it have travelled there? Who was the recipient and what was in the letter or package?
These questions are the driving force behind many stamp collectors. For Ruth in lockdown it became a means to escape the confines of her four walls and let her mind wander to distant lands.
